"Witnessing" the train driver training place for the Nhon - Hanoi station metro line

The practical training course is applied to 50 people, of which 38 are train drivers, 12 are train test drivers and train shunters. Relevant units are making efforts to operate the elevated section of the Nhon - Hanoi station metro, expected to be in the middle of this year.

To serve the operation of the elevated section of the Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station urban railway in 2024, from February 19, the investor coordinated with the operation support consultant to conduct practical training (RAMP-UP) for 50 people.

Currently, the final train driving group of nearly 20 members is practicing directly on the line by experts from consulting company Systra.

According to the Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station Metro Line Management Board, RAMP-UP is divided into two main phases. Phase 1 will focus on operational personnel (OCC control room personnel and train driver team personnel), these are two important personnel groups to ensure safe and efficient train operation. Phase 2, all remaining personnel are OCC control room personnel and train driver team personnel will coordinate with station operating personnel as well as maintenance team personnel.

Mr. Benoit Picout, Systra's train driver training expert, said that the train drivers have undergone 7 training sessions and this is the last one.

For urban railways, the team of train drivers plays an important role, ensuring the transportation of thousands of passengers in the safest, most punctual and comfortable conditions.

Experts said that the technology and equipment on the Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station train have many differences from the Cat Linh - Ha Dong train. Therefore, even train drivers who have operated the Cat Linh line must be thoroughly trained when switching to the Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station line. This training session is only to supplement their knowledge of safety, emergency handling, passenger evacuation, etc.

The Hanoi Urban Railway Project Management Board said that the elevated section of the Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station metro line has been completed by over 99%. It is expected that from the end of April to the end of June, the investor will conduct a trial operation of the entire system. After that, the project will be handed over to Hanoi Metro for commercial operation.
