Many universities in Vietnam will find opportunities to cooperate with many leading universities in the US such as Stanford University, Duke... in a cooperation program that is considered unprecedented.
According to information from the US Embassy, this program named "International Academic Partnership Program Vietnam" (original name is IAPP Vietnam: International Academic Partnership Program Vietnam) is implemented in coordination with the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam and the Institute of International Education (IIE) on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of US-Vietnam relations.

During the program, 21 American universities will participate in a 5-day survey trip to Vietnam from March 31 to April 4 to establish new cooperative relationships and strengthen academic cooperation with Vietnamese partners.
The delegation will explore Vietnam’s higher education system through campus visits, networking events, and meetings with government and private sector stakeholders. However, the U.S. Embassy has not yet released details of upcoming partnerships.

Among the delegations of American universities, the most prominent is the famous Stanford University, currently ranked 6th in the world on the QS World University Rankings 2025 (2025) by QS, an international organization in the UK specializing in ranking higher education institutions worldwide. On the QS 2025 table, Duke University is ranked 61st.

Mr. Jason Czyz, President of the American Institute of International Education, emphasized: "Higher education cooperation between the US and Vietnam brings great economic opportunities and mutual benefits. Researchers from both countries can cooperate in many STEM fields and build training programs to prepare students for the future."
STEM is an acronym for the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. Worldwide, it plays an important role in schools at all levels to enhance the competitiveness of countries in science and technology development.
The Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training was quoted by the US Embassy as saying: "The International Academic Cooperation Program in Vietnam marks a strong step forward in expanding educational cooperation, promoting innovation and enhancing student and faculty exchanges between the two countries."
According to information from the US Embassy, more than 30,000 Vietnamese students studied at US educational institutions in the 2023-2024 school year, contributing more than 1 billion USD to the US economy.
