Spring rolls are the only Vietnamese representative to appear in the ranking of the 100 best fried foods in the world recently announced by Taste Atlas.
Vietnamese fried spring rolls or spring rolls ranked 42nd on the list, with 4.3/5 stars. The famous culinary website described this dish as "filled with minced pork and shrimp, wrapped in soft rice paper".
After being rolled and fried, the spring rolls have a thin, golden and crispy outer layer. The filling is irresistibly delicious thanks to the combination of meat, shrimp with vegetables, vermicelli, wood ear mushrooms, and shiitake mushrooms, Taste Atlas describes .
This is not the first time Vietnamese spring rolls have been honored in international media. Previously, in May 2023, Vietnamese spring rolls were included in the list of "100 best appetizers in the world" by Taste Atlas . Fried spring rolls were also in the top "50 best dishes in the world" voted by CNN.
Founded in 2015, Taste Atlas (headquartered in Zagreb, Croatia) is known as a map that brings together traditional dishes from around the world.
