Full-time National Assembly deputies highly agree with the draft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Advertising.

Speaking at the opening of the discussion session, Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh said that the draft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Advertising was one of the drafts that received attention and many comments from National Assembly deputies at the 8th Session of the 15th National Assembly.

After being reviewed, revised and finalized, the Draft Law includes 03 articles, amends and supplements 23 articles, abolishes 1 article and 10 points and clauses of the 2012 Advertising Law, and clarifies many issues compared to the Draft Law submitted to the National Assembly for comments at the 8th Session.

Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh suggested that National Assembly deputies could discuss some more contents on the rights and obligations of those who transmit advertising products; cross-border advertising issues or ensuring the consistency of the draft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Advertising Law with related laws.

At the meeting, full-time National Assembly deputies expressed high agreement with the draft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Advertising and no National Assembly deputies had any additional comments.

Speaking about the process of receiving, completing and preparing the draft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Advertising to be submitted to the National Assembly at the upcoming 9th session, on behalf of the drafting agency, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Trinh Thi Thuy thanked the consensus of full-time National Assembly deputies on the draft Law.

Sharing about the efforts of the drafting agency, Deputy Minister Trinh Thi Thuy said that in a highly receptive spirit, the drafting agency has had many comprehensive and in-depth working sessions on each field as well as organized conferences and seminars to consult with experts, scientists, relevant ministries, sectors, businesses and especially National Assembly deputies.

The Deputy Minister said that up to now, the drafting agency has basically completed the process of receiving comments from National Assembly deputies. In the coming time, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will continue to closely coordinate with the reviewing agency to listen to and receive comments from National Assembly deputies, and complete the draft Law dossier to submit to the National Assembly.

In addition, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has also actively and proactively developed draft Decrees and related documents to guide the implementation of the Law in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Promulgation of Legal Documents.

According to Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh, today's specialized conference showed a high level of consensus with the Draft Law, however, there is still time from now until the National Assembly discusses and gives opinions on the Draft Law, so the Vice Chairwoman suggested that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinate with the National Assembly's Committee on Culture and Society to continue researching and reviewing a number of issues, especially those related to state management of advertising related to the policy of merging, streamlining, organizing the apparatus and organizing two-level local governments to update new developments accordingly.

The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly requested the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to continue to coordinate with the National Assembly's Committee on Culture and Social Affairs to complete the dossier according to regulations to submit to the National Assembly for approval at the upcoming 9th Session./.
