Approved investment of 10,830 billion VND to develop Quang Ngai seaport

The Ministry of Construction has just approved the detailed planning for the development of land and seaport areas in Quang Ngai for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050.

Quang Ngai seaport includes Dung Quat port area, Sa Ky, My A, Ben Dinh (Ly Son island) ports and other potential ports.

The plan sets a target that by 2030, Quang Ngai seaport will be able to transport 47.2 - 48.2 million tons of cargo and 1.13 - 1.26 million passengers. During this period, 11 ports including 41 wharves with a total length of more than 8.2km will be planned.

Total land use demand according to planning until 2030 is about 217 hectares (not including the development of industrial parks, logistics... associated with the port) and about 28,650 hectares including other water areas within the management scope without maritime works.

According to the Ministry of Construction, the capital investment demand for the seaport system in Quang Ngai by 2030 is about VND10,830 billion, of which VND2,870 billion is for public maritime infrastructure and VND7,960 billion for ports.
