On February 3 (the 6th day of Tet), a representative of Urban Railway Company No. 1 (HURC 1) informed about the operation of the Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien metro line in 10 days to serve the peak of Tet At Ty.

Accordingly, from January 24 (December 25) to February 2 (the 5th day of Tet), HURC 1 operated 1,768 train trips, serving 761,416 passengers.

Revenue from ticket sales during this period reached more than 11.7 billion VND.

Of which, the second day of Tet is the day with the highest number of visitors, 120,000 people, earning more than 1.8 billion VND. The remaining peak days have the number of visitors ranging from 45,000 to 110,000 people/day.

The Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien metro line will officially operate from December 22, 2024 and tickets will be free for the first month. Every day, the train operates from 5am to 10pm with about 200 trips.

Each train carries a maximum of 930 passengers (including 147 seats and 783 standing seats) with an interval of 8-12 minutes/trip, a total of 200 trips per day. Speed ​​110km/h (elevated section) and 80km/h (underground section).

From January 21, Metro Line 1 will be put into commercial operation, with ticket prices according to regulations. Passengers can buy tickets at 40,000 VND/person/ticket/day, with no limit on trips per day. The price of a 3-day ticket is 90,000 VND.

Monthly ticket price: 300,000 VND/person/ticket/month; students: 150,000 VND (50% discount).

The fare for cash payment is from 7,000-20,000 VND depending on the route; the fare for non-cash payment is from 6,000-19,000 VND depending on the route.

Ho Chi Minh City implements a policy of 100% ticket price support for people with revolutionary contributions; people with disabilities; the elderly and children under 6 years old to travel by train and use bus routes connecting to metro line 1.
