Mỗi năm từ trồng và bán rau giống, anh Việt thu về trên 700 triệu đồng
Every year from growing and selling vegetable seeds, Mr. Dinh Quoc Viet's family earns over 700 million VND.

We visited Dinh Quoc Viet's family in An Quang village, Quang Kim commune when he was busy preparing the land for the new vegetable crop. It is known that Viet's family is one of the typical examples of economic development in the commune, becoming quite rich with the model of growing and trading vegetable seeds.

Mr. Viet said that nearly 20 years ago, his family moved to An Quang village to live. Although the land was large, they were still struggling to find a way to increase their income. Then, one time, he returned to his hometown (Ha Nam province), and saw people growing various types of vegetables with good income. When he returned, he boldly renovated his family's garden area, working and learning to grow various types of vegetable seeds to supply to the market.

Thanks to his diligence, hard work, and expansion of the cultivation area; up to now, Mr. Viet's family has become the largest household growing and supplying vegetable seeds in Bat Xat district, Lao Cai province, with nearly 10,000 square meters of vegetable seeds. On average, each year his family earns over 700 million VND from selling vegetable seeds.

“Together with the people in the village and commune, we Catholics always strictly follow the Party’s guidelines and policies, the State’s laws and policies; live a good life and follow our religion. We actively respond to local patriotic emulation movements and campaigns, contributing to enriching cultural life and promoting socio-economic development…”, Mr. Viet shared.

Saying goodbye to Mr. Viet, we visited the family of Mr. Tan A Senh in Lang Quang village - Head of Quang Kim Catholic Church. Mr. Senh's family is one of the rich households in the commune, with a business model of providing food services (pork) to the market. On average, each year from the pork business, his family earns over 1 billion VND. With a good economy, Mr. Senh has the conditions to take care of his children's education, build a spacious house, and buy expensive items for family life.

Not only developing the family economy, Mr. Senh also helps households in difficult circumstances in the village and district. Specifically, 2 years ago, Mr. Senh helped the poorest household in Lang Quang village with more than 1 ton of cement to build a house; called for support of more than 40 million VND to help poor households in Tong Sanh commune (Bat Xat district) build solid houses...

“Every week, parishioners return to the meeting point to celebrate Mass and listen to the priest preach. Here, in addition to preaching, the priests also propagate and encourage parishioners to comply with the policies and laws of the Party and State; compete to develop the economy, eliminate hunger and reduce poverty,” Mr. Senh added.

Currently, in Quang Kim commune, there are 78 Catholics. Most Catholics in the commune actively respond and encourage their children and grandchildren in their families and clans to maintain family traditions, stay away from social evils, and not listen to bad people who incite, divide, and cause disunity...

The work of legal education and propaganda, coordinated by priests and authorities, is regularly integrated into sermons and catechism classes to deploy, remind, and help parishioners, especially young people, understand the harmful effects of drugs, gambling, and alcohol; propagate the Law on Traffic Safety, the Law on Military Service, etc., contributing to raising awareness of law enforcement, preventing and combating crimes and social evils in the area.
