Mark Zuckerberg has made headlines for ordering a giant statue of his wife. In a photo and video posted on Instagram, the Facebook CEO said he was “bringing back the Roman tradition of erecting statues of his wife.”

The large sculpture was created by artist Daniel Arsham, who has worked with brands including Tiffany and Dior. The statue is green and appears to be walking, wearing a silver cloak.

Zuckerberg’s “wife” – Priscilla Chan – stood next to the statue, which is about 2m tall, placed under a tree. Chan also left a comment with a heart symbol.

According to People magazine, Roman statues were sometimes used to commemorate deceased loved ones or to remind them of how important a person was to someone. The Chan statue received positive reactions from Zuckerberg's social media followers.

“So beautiful, lucky lady,” one person wrote. Meanwhile, “The Billionaires [sic] Lifestyle” – which posts pictures of rich people and expensive things – said the Chan statue should be in a museum, adding clapping and fire emojis. “The right woman will turn a boy into a real man,” commented “Pantoja_Oficial. ”

However, not everyone is impressed by the Facebook billionaire’s “wife-crazy” actions. Some people feel “shudder” when seeing this work.
