Exciting traditional boat race on Huong River to celebrate 50 years of Hue Liberation Day

This year's boat race attracted nearly 500 male and female athletes from 12 wards and communes in Phu Xuan and Thuan Hoa districts, Hue city.

The teams compete in 9-person boats and participate in races including: men's and women's swimming 3 laps, 6 turns; men's and women's swimming 1, 2, 3 laps, 4 turns.

Athletes compete in boat racing on the Perfume River.

From early morning, thousands of people from all districts, towns and Hue City, along with many tourists, came to both banks of the Huong River to cheer on the boat racing teams.

The traditional boat race on the Perfume River took place in a vibrant atmosphere.

Mr. Hoang Tan Ninh, Vice Chairman of Phu Xuan District People's Committee (Hue City) said that the traditional boat race of the two districts took place in the joyful atmosphere of the whole country celebrating the major holidays of the homeland and country, towards celebrating the 50th anniversary of Hue Liberation Day.

Thousands of people cheered for the boat racing teams.

The traditional boat racing tournament is organized to meet the needs of the people to enjoy culture and sports. This is also an opportunity to promote traditional cultural and sports activities of the homeland associated with stimulating tourism and promoting local socio-economic development.
