Vietnam National Administration of Tourism stated: In 2024, the global tourism industry will still face a number of difficulties and challenges. Domestically, the socio-economic situation is stable, the economy continues to grow, inflation is controlled, but there are still difficulties and challenges due to the impact of the international market.
The risk of disease still exists; natural disasters, storms, floods, impacts from climate change... continue to develop abnormally, greatly affecting production, business and people's lives.
According to the forecast of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), international tourism activities will fully recover by the end of 2024, on par with 2019.
But the recovery is uneven across regions. The needs of international tourists are constantly changing, requiring increasingly high product quality, experiences, diversity and uniqueness.
The number of international visitors to Vietnam is forecast to reach the same level as in 2019. Domestic visitors will continue to grow but at a slower pace. The trend of applying information technology, artificial intelligence and digital transformation will promote the formation of new ways of traveling; the process of entrepreneurship and innovation will become increasingly evident.
In 2024, the tourism industry strives to welcome 17-18 million international visitors; serve 110 million domestic visitors (of which about 72.5 million are staying guests). Total revenue from tourists will reach about 840,000 billion VND.
