On August 21, Phuoc My Ward Police, Son Tra District (Da Nang City) handed over two suspects who stole property from beachgoers to Son Tra District Police for handling according to their authority.
The beach tourism order team arrested Dang Hoang Tai with stolen goods.
Previously, at 6:00 p.m. on August 19, members of the Beach Tourism Order Team (under the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang tourist beaches) discovered Dang Hoang Tai (34 years old, residing in Tan Chinh Ward, Thanh Khe District) stealing an iPhone 13 from a beach visitor.
According to the investigation, at around 5:30 p.m. the same day, Ms. Pham Hong Phuc (19 years old, residing in Hai Chau Ward 1, Hai Chau District) left a handbag on the sand to go swimming at beach area number 1, Phuoc My Ward.
Dang Hoang Tai approached, searched Ms. Phuc's handbag, and took away her iPhone 13. Tai had just fled the scene when he was arrested by the police and taken to the Phuoc My Ward Police Station.
Duong Thi Bong was arrested after stealing property from beachgoers.
Then, at around 6:30 p.m. on August 20, the Beach Tourism Order Team caught Duong Thi Bong (39 years old, residing on An Nhon 8 Street, An Hai Bac Ward, Son Tra District) taking advantage of the moment when guests went swimming to steal a backpack containing an Oppo mobile phone and a Redmi phone.
Phuoc My Ward Police handed over Tai and Bong to Son Tra District Police to consolidate records and initiate criminal proceedings.
Effective model to ensure security and order of sea tourism
On August 15, the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang tourist beaches launched a joint patrol model to ensure security and order for beach tourism. The model includes organic forces such as: Beach tourism order management team, police of coastal localities, Mobile Police Battalion, forest rangers, border guards, etc., with the support of the Foreign Security Department, Department of Building the Movement to Protect National Security (Da Nang City Police).
This model aims to fully mobilize forces, promote the advantages of the functions of each sector, create combined strength in patrolling and guarding, especially quick response and timely handling of situations arising in the tourism environment.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Vu, Head of the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang tourist beaches, said: "In just a short time of coordination, the new model has been effective in supporting tourists in security and order such as theft, robbery, lost property, finding relatives, finding lost children... in the Da Nang beach area".
