(NLDO) - Linh Ung Pagoda in Da Nang City is always visited by locals and international tourists during holidays and Tet.
On the afternoon of January 29 (the first day of Tet), thousands of people and tourists in Da Nang went out for spring outings and wished each other a happy new year. In the chilly weather, many tourists flocked to Linh Ung Pagoda (Son Tra Peninsula, Da Nang City) to pray for peace and luck.
According to a reporter from Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, from 3 p.m. the same day, the number of people visiting the pagoda was so large that the road to Son Tra Peninsula was partially congested. Vehicles jostled each other, inching forward.
It took nearly 30 minutes just to travel from the foot of the mountain to Linh Ung Pagoda. Ms. Thanh (residing in Son Tra district, Da Nang city) said this was the first time she witnessed Linh Ung Pagoda being overloaded.
"Every year, my family goes to worship Buddha on the morning of the first day of the month. This year is the first time we visit Linh Ung Pagoda in the afternoon. Although unfortunately there was a traffic jam, everyone is happy, hoping for a smooth, peaceful, and lucky year," Ms. Thanh expressed.

Faced with the above situation, traffic police officers of Son Tra District Police and local police forces were present at Linh Ung Pagoda to regulate traffic through the area.
Temporarily, authorities have banned vehicles with 4-52 seats from entering the pagoda to limit traffic congestion.
Since its establishment, with its location where the sea and sky meet the mountains and rivers, Linh Ung Pagoda has become a famous spiritual and cultural tourist destination in Da Nang in particular and Vietnam in general. The pagoda is always visited by locals and international tourists on every holiday and Tet.
