Sharing at the press conference organized by VTV on March 13, in Hanoi, the organizing committee said that this year, television dramas are divided into two categories: Short series (under 10 episodes) and Long series (unlimited number of episodes). This change helps expand opportunities for many production units to participate, thereby gradually localizing, exploiting diverse content, and enriching the way of telling stories.
With 34 entries from 14 production units, many feature films have made a strong impression when broadcast before, such as: Milk Flower Returns in the Wind, We of 8 Years Later, Our Family is Unexpectedly Happy, Met You on the Day of the Cold Wind (TV Drama Center, Vietnam Television Station). In addition, many films from local stations appearing for the first time at the Festival also received great expectations, such as: Huong Dong Lac (Dong Thap PT-TH), Binh Minh Dang Rising (Quang Ninh Media Center).

In addition to the judging and awarding program, the Festival is also a forum for television filmmakers to exchange, share experiences, and propose new directions. Two seminars revolving around the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in television and data mining show that the trend of digital transformation is becoming an important factor, influencing the way television films are produced and distributed.
With changes in the rules and criteria for judging, competition in the TV drama category is expected to be fierce. Only 5% of the total entries will be awarded the Gold Prize, which is a great motivation for production units to improve quality, create meaningful works and attract audiences. The gathering of famous artists in the industry such as People's Artist Tan Minh, People's Artist My Uyen, musician Giang Son... also contributes to increasing the attraction of the Festival.
At the press conference, Mr. Do Thanh Hai, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Television, emphasized that programs that use AI to change the original content will not be accepted. This means that TV programs that apply AI can only support production stages such as editing, image or sound editing, but are not allowed to use AI to create, change or distort the original content of the program. This regulation aims to ensure honesty, accuracy and ethics in the television field, while avoiding negative impacts that may occur when AI is abused to distort information...
Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Lam Hai Giang, said that on the occasion of the 42nd National Television Festival, Binh Dinh province will organize two free tours exclusively for reporters and journalists participating in the event. These tours will introduce outstanding landscapes and special destinations of Binh Dinh, helping guests have the opportunity to experience and explore the natural beauty, culture and history of the locality. This is not only an activity to promote Binh Dinh tourism but also an opportunity for journalists to have more materials and inspiration during their work.
