(CLO) Every mid-February of the lunar calendar, people gather at the Temple of Literature to burn incense in memory of their ancestors and honor the tradition of studiousness of Ha Tinh people.
The Temple of Literature Festival is a traditional cultural activity held annually on the full moon day of the second lunar month in Ha Tinh City, Ha Tinh Province. This year, the festival takes place over three days, from March 14-16 (ie February 15-17 of the lunar calendar).

On the second day, there were ceremonies to worship ancestors, gods, and famous people of Ha Tinh city and Tran Phu ward; incense offering ceremonies of agencies and units; ceremonies of communes, wards, and families with great scholars engraved on the stele...
In addition, there are other activities such as calligraphy contests, cultural activities, and sports competitions to create an exciting atmosphere for the festival.
On the last day of the festival, the ceremony will continue with the sacrificial activities of the ward, commune and clan; the festival will feature folk games, sports competitions; fish release; and flower lanterns.
The Temple of Literature Festival is an important cultural and religious activity of Ha Tinh City, honoring and preserving traditional cultural values. Through its many organization times, the Temple of Literature Festival has quickly become a cultural beauty, a destination for Ha Tinh people.
It is expected that the Temple of Literature Festival in 2025 will attract thousands of participants and experiences.
Ha Tinh Temple of Literature was built in the 14th year of Minh Mang (1833). This is the place to worship Confucius, teacher Chu Van An (1292-1370), the great physician Hai Thuong Lan Ong Le Huu Trac (1724-1791), the third-ranked scholar Nguyen Huy Oanh (1713-1789), La Son Phu Tu Nguyen Thiep (1723-1804), and the great poet Nguyen Du (1765-1820).
Previously, the Temple of Literature in Ha Tinh was the place where spring and autumn ceremonies were held twice a year and where feudal examinations were held.
Today, this place is not only a place to worship talented people but also a place for cultural activities, honoring and encouraging the spirit of studiousness and the spirit of overcoming difficulties to excel in study of generations of Ha Tinh students.
