Right at the beginning of Lam Ninh village, before our eyes appeared a spacious two-story kindergarten. It is known that the school was built from the budget of the National Target Program for Socio-Economic Development in Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas (National Target Program 1719), with a budget of more than 3.8 billion VND.

This is not only a place for children to study, but also a safe shelter for the Bru - Van Kieu people during the rainy and stormy season. The kindergarten will soon become a mark of the village's development in the memories of many generations of students and Bru - Van Kieu people in Lam Ninh.

More and more solid houses are being built in Lam Ninh.

Also from the investment resources of the National Target Program 1719, the People's Committee of Truong Xuan commune has allocated 300 million VND to repair and upgrade the Lam Ninh village cultural house. Then the project to renovate the intra-field canal system worth 250 million VND has created a breakthrough in the rice cultivation of the Bru - Van Kieu people. The construction of an irrigation dam for domestic water and irrigation worth 800 million VND... has also been completed and put into use. After 4 years of implementing the National Target Program 1719, Lam Ninh has "put on" a completely new look.

The old worn-out stilt houses of the past are less and less, instead, solid houses are springing up more and more in Lam Ninh. First of all, it must be said that the “push” from the National Target Program 1719 has invested in building 10 “3-hard” houses in the village.

Along with that, livelihood models such as planting acacia, raising buffaloes and cows and paying for forest protection services have helped many ethnic households become well-off. With money, people invest in building spacious houses to "settle down" right in their own village.

Houses with modern architecture have also contributed to beautifying the appearance of Lam Ninh.

Mr. Ho Hon, Chief of Lam Ninh village, happily boasted that the whole village currently has 5 newly built spacious houses worth 800 million VND or more. Together with 10 "3 offerings" houses supported by the government, the whole village only has 9 households without permanent houses. But with the current pace of planting acacia and raising buffalo and cows, in a few years everyone will have a permanent house to live in.

Lam Ninh is a village with 54 households and 202 Bru - Van Kieu people living. In the economic structure of Lam Ninh, forest planting and large livestock raising account for a basic proportion. Currently, the village has 213 hectares of acacia, 240 buffaloes and cows and has protected more than 200 hectares of natural forest.

The rice fields are green and lush in the village.

What makes me equally happy is seeing the lush green rice fields in their prime surrounding the village. I asked Village Chief Ho Hon and learned that the Bru Van Kieu people in the village currently have nearly 6 hectares of rice. Although rice has not helped the people in Lam Ninh become rich, at least rice has helped them fill their stomachs.

The whole village is determined to maintain two rice crops per year, and at the same time determined to maintain the highest productivity in the commune. This determination became a reality when the State invested in helping the village complete the system of irrigation dams and intra-field canals.

Chairman of Truong Xuan Commune People's Committee, Mr. Pham Van Quang emphasized: "National Target Program 1719 has become a great resource creating a strong "push" for Truong Xuan to develop comprehensively. After 4 years of implementing National Target Program 1719, Lam Ninh has become a bright spot in infrastructure construction, poverty reduction and building a new cultural life.

Although rice has not helped people in Lam Ninh become rich, it has solved the food problem in the village. Currently, in Lam Ninh village, people maintain growing 2 rice crops/year.

From being remote and isolated, Lam Ninh has now become closer than before thanks to the gradually synchronous investment in infrastructure, and the traffic routes reaching all the way to the village. The Bru - Van Kieu people in Lam Ninh have also changed their thinking and working methods to develop production and become well-off.
