Buddhist nun Thich Nu Chuc Phuc - abbot of Phuoc Hue Buddhist Temple (Long An) gives gifts to households in Nam Yen commune.
The total cost of drilling a water well was 144 million VND, funded by Buddhists mobilized by Buddhist nuns Thich Nu Chuc Phuc - abbot of Phuoc Hue Buddhist Temple (Long An).
On this occasion, the Kien Giang Provincial Red Cross Society donated 20 nano-technology water filters (VND 900,000/bottle), and Buddhist nun Thich Nu Chuc Phuc donated 24 gifts (VND 350,000/gift) including rice and necessities to disadvantaged households in Nam Yen commune (An Bien).
Vice Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Kien Giang Province Lam Quoc Toan said that the program to support drilling water wells aims to help farming households have clean water to use, especially during the dry season, contributing to the local government's efforts to improve clean water standards in new rural construction.
Comrade Lam Quoc Toan suggested that farmers who were supported to drill wells should change their habits of using canal water in daily life and share . clean water source for the community to ensure hygiene and health of people.
