At the congress, Major General Nguyen Ngoc Cuong, Director of the National Data Center (Ministry of Public Security), presented a summary report on the results of the preparatory session of the first National Congress of the National Data Association, term 2025 - 2030; reported the results of the first session of the congress; announced the results of the election of the Executive Committee of the association for the term 2025 - 2030.

Accordingly, the Executive Board of the National Data Association consists of 61 members. The Standing Board of the Association has 7 members, including Senior General Luong Tam Quang, Minister of Public Security, Chairman of the Association; Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long, Deputy Minister of Public Security, Permanent Vice Chairman; Major General Nguyen Ngoc Cuong, Executive Vice Chairman.

Development must ensure safety

Directing at the conference, General Secretary To Lam emphasized that the establishment of the National Data Association is of great significance. The General Secretary believes that the association will be a common home for digital knights, a pioneer in implementing Resolution No. 57 and resolutions on science and technology to soon turn our country into a digital nation with digital governance, digital economy, and digital society developed based on correct, sufficient, clean, and live data.

To do this, the General Secretary suggested that the association research and propose to perfect the legal corridor on data, creating conditions for data to be collected, circulated, connected, shared and exploited to the maximum, while ensuring security, safety and data sovereignty.

In addition, the association needs to promote its core role in building, developing, exploiting and enriching national data, focusing on four main pillars: people, location, activities and products, in which the issue of setting high-quality standard data is very important...

General Secretary To Lam also emphasized the role of the association in a number of key programs and initiatives. Among them, it is necessary to develop a data market for sustainable development; build a national open artificial intelligence platform; quickly popularize data literacy for all citizens; soon organize competitions to challenge innovation based on data and continue to enhance self-reliance in data technology.

"State agencies, with the leading role of the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Science and Technology and a number of related ministries and branches, need to have a tighter and more synchronous monitoring system on the basis of strong application of digital technology to ensure that legal regulations are fully and effectively complied with. Data must be secured, a system must be built to protect data security products, data security services must be developed, a system of data security standards must be built, and a data security industry must be formed...", the General Secretary directed.

Promising to the General Secretary, General Luong Tam Quang said that the National Data Association and the entire police force will seriously absorb and promptly concretize tasks to effectively implement the General Secretary's direction in the association's program of activities as well as related work aspects.

General Luong Tam Quang affirmed that after the congress, the National Data Association will continue to improve its apparatus and strive to immediately implement the General Secretary's instructions with meaningful and practical activities, creating influence and spreading power to contribute to building the association on the motto "Convergence - Solidarity - Creativity - Breakthrough - Development".
