The source revealed: “Storm Shadow missiles were used by Ukraine to attack the headquarters of the Black Sea Fleet.”
What is special is the presence of a US Navy aircraft in the sky over the Black Sea at the time of the attack on Sevastopol.
According to open sources, during the missile attack on Sevastopol, a US Navy P-8A Poseidon aircraft was detected operating over the Black Sea.
Russian military websites claim that the plane did not calibrate the missile attack but recorded the results of the incident. It is now known that the attack left one Russian soldier missing.
The Russian Defense Ministry announced that air defense systems shot down five missiles.
Earlier the same day, according to THX , the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) confirmed that they had attacked the headquarters of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in the Crimean peninsula.
In a post on the Telegram app, the AFU's Strategic Communications Department stated: "Ukrainian defense forces have carried out a successful attack on the headquarters of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in the temporarily occupied city of Sevastopol."
Kiev launched the attack at around noon local time (around 4:00 p.m. on September 22, Vietnam time).
The Russian Defense Ministry announced that the headquarters building of Russia's Black Sea Fleet in the city of Sevastopol was damaged in a Ukrainian missile attack.
“The enemy launched a missile attack on the fleet headquarters. A missile fragment fell near the Lunacharsky theater,” Mikhail Razvozhayev, the Russian-appointed governor of Sevastopol, said on Telegram.
* In another development, also on September 22, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky delivered a speech before the Canadian Parliament during his official visit to the country, in which he repeatedly thanked Ottawa for its continued support to help Kiev in its conflict with Russia.
Following the speech, Canada and Ukraine signed a trade modernization agreement aimed at strengthening economic ties between the two sides.
This is the first time Mr. Zelensky has visited Canada, a country that supports Kiev, since Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine in February 2022.
