On February 19, 2025, PTSC Thanh Hoa held a meeting to inspect the pre-fabrication of the 41.4MW steam turbine generator No. 3 (STG3) under the project of Design, procurement, construction, installation, connection, trial run and handover of the STG3 steam turbine generator set for Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Plant (NSRP). The meeting was attended by the Project Board, including the following parties: Investor Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Company Limited (NSRP), steam turbine generator set manufacturer Mitsui E&S (MES) and Vietnam Oil and Gas Technical Services Corporation (PTSC)/PTSC Thanh Hoa Technical Services Joint Stock Company (PTSC Thanh Hoa). This is an important milestone marking the beginning of the project, with high commitment from all parties, working together to create favorable conditions to compete to complete the project to ensure quality to meet the requirements of the investor and exceed the set schedule.
Meeting between 3 parties NSRP, PTSC/PTSC Thanh Hoa and MES
Previously, on November 20, 2024, NSRP and PTSC Corporation officially signed the STG3 replacement project contract. The scope of work includes replacing and converting Steam Turbine 113-A-006 with a capacity of 41.4 MW and auxiliary systems. This is a very important and strategic project, not only ensuring the supply of electricity for the continuous operation of Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Plant, but also marking an important step forward for PTSC/PTSC Thanh Hoa in the field of upgrading and converting petrochemical plants and energy industrial plants. At the meeting, the parties discussed in detail the implementation plan for processing, manufacturing, quality inspection, progress of the STG3 cluster as well as the technical plan of the equipment related to the STG3 cluster and the coordination between the parties. The participating parties exchanged, contributed positive opinions and proposed timely solutions.
Immediately after the meeting, PTSC launched the project kick-off program and launched the competition. Attending the program, on behalf of NSRP, there were Mr. Pham Van Chat - Deputy General Director of NSRP; Mr. Le Nguyen Quoc Vinh - Factory Director; Mr. Huynh Minh Huong - Head of Operation Department along with key members of the STG3 Project Board and representatives of NSRP departments. On behalf of PTSC Corporation and PTSC Thanh Hoa, there were Mr. Vu Duc Cuong - Vice Chairman of the Trade Union of PTSC Corporation; Mr. Pham Hung Phuong - Director of PTSC Thanh Hoa Company; Mr. Nguyen Khac Dung - Deputy Director of STG 3 Project; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Son - Deputy Director of STG 3 Project along with the presence of the Board of Directors, representatives of specialized departments, all employees of the STG 3 Project Board under PTSC Corporation and PTSC Thanh Hoa. On behalf of MES and Kokusai Commerce (Kokusai), there were Mr. Mikio Morioka - manager, senior engineer of MES; Mr. Kohei Nishio - Assistant Manager, MES Business Engineer; Mr. Masanori Fukuda - Director of Kokusai. Speaking at the ceremony, the representative of PTSC Corporation/PTSC Thanh Hoa, Mr. Pham Hung Phuong - Director of PTSC Thanh Hoa expressed his respect and deep gratitude to the investor NSRP for their trust and cooperation in the project as well as throughout the past time. PTSC/PTSC Thanh Hoa affirmed that it will mobilize all the best resources, closely coordinate with the investor and related parties to effectively implement the project according to the set commitment.

Representing NSRP – the project investor, Mr. Le Nguyen Quoc Vinh – Plant Director emphasized the importance of the STG3 project in ensuring a stable power source and maintaining continuous operations of the Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Plant. He also emphasized the strict requirements on safety, all construction activities must strictly comply with the highest technical standards and safety regulations. At the same time, with its capacity, professionalism and strong commitment, he believes that PTSC/PTSC Thanh Hoa will complete the project on schedule, ensuring safety and quality.

Mr. Masanori Fukuda – Director of Kokusai, representing MES and Kokusai, affirmed that this is an important and strategic project. The unit is committed to making every effort to supply and hand over the 113-A-006 turbine cluster to PTSC Corporation on schedule, contributing to the overall success of the project.

Representing the Project Board, Mr. Nguyen Khac Dung - Deputy Head of Commercial Department of PTSC Corporation, Deputy Director of STG3 Project, expressed his commitment to emulate the implementation of the project with absolute safety, quality, meeting customer requirements, efficiency and exceeding the set schedule. Immediately afterwards, representatives of all parties performed the project kick-off ceremony, demonstrating their consensus, determination and spirit of close coordination to successfully implement the project. This ceremony not only marked an important first step but also strongly affirmed the responsibility and commitment of all parties involved in ensuring that the project is implemented on schedule, achieving the highest efficiency and bringing practical value and overall success to the project.
