On the afternoon of February 28, the Provincial People's Committee held a ceremony to announce that Khanh Son and Khanh Vinh districts will escape poverty in 2025 and Van Thanh commune (Van Ninh district) will escape from being a particularly disadvantaged commune in 2024. At the ceremony, the Provincial People's Committee announced Decision No. 389, dated February 24, 2025 of the Prime Minister on recognizing Khanh Son and Khanh Vinh districts as escaping poverty in 2025 and Van Thanh commune (Van Ninh district) as escaping extreme poverty in 2024 and removing them from the list of poor districts and extremely disadvantaged communes in coastal and island areas for the period 2021 - 2025.
It is known that in the 2021-2025 period, the province has allocated more than 729.7 billion VND to invest in poverty reduction projects and sub-projects for Khanh Son and Khanh Vinh districts. In Van Thanh commune, the province also focuses on investing in many projects to complete infrastructure; implement sustainable poverty reduction policies for people... With focused attention and investment, by the end of 2024, Khanh Son district will have 1,620 poor households, accounting for 20.17% and 908 near-poor households, accounting for 11.3% (a reduction of 1,910 poor households compared to the end of 2021); Khanh Vinh district will have 1,632 poor households, accounting for 14.77% and 1,112 near-poor households, accounting for 10.07% (a reduction of 3,199 poor households compared to the end of 2021). In Van Thanh commune, there are currently 60 poor households, accounting for 3.76% and 149 near-poor households, accounting for 9.34% (a reduction of 143 poor households and 87 near-poor households compared to the end of 2021). In 2025, the province plans to allocate more than 100 billion VND to continue implementing poverty reduction projects and sub-projects in Khanh Son and Khanh Vinh districts...

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tan Tuan emphasized that the two districts of Khanh Son and Khanh Vinh escaping from the poor district and Van Thanh commune escaping from the extremely difficult commune is a great joy for the entire Party Committee and people in the province. To ensure that Khanh Son and Khanh Vinh districts continue to develop stably and not return to a difficult situation, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested all levels, sectors and localities to focus on seriously implementing the instructions of the Provincial Party Secretary at the working sessions in the two localities; step up propaganda and mobilization work to help people change their production mindset and seize economic development opportunities; implement economic development solutions associated with the advantages of each locality; improve the quality of human resources, create sustainable jobs for people; invest in completing basic infrastructure, improving the quality of social services; effectively implement the work of monitoring, evaluating and adjusting policies...
