This morning, April 17, at the Traditional Cultural House of Van Kieu and Pa Ko ethnic groups, Dakrong district, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with the People's Committee of Dakrong district organized the opening ceremony of the 2nd Quang Tri Province Ethnic Minority Sports Festival in 2024.

The competition took place from April 17 to 21, 2024, gathering more than 100 male and female athletes from ethnic minorities from Vinh Linh, Gio Linh, Dakrong and Huong Hoa districts; competing in 4 events: volleyball, stick pushing, crossbow shooting and tug of war.

The Quang Tri Province Ethnic Minority Sports Festival is held annually to create a useful playground for athletes and ethnic minorities to meet, exchange, compete and express their passion and love for sports; preserve, conserve and develop ethnic sports, promote the value of national heritage, constantly improve health and spiritual life, contribute to comprehensive human development to meet the requirements of the country's industrialization and modernization; strengthen solidarity between ethnic minorities for mutual development.
Through the competition, we aim to discover and select talented athletes for Quang Tri sports to train, foster and improve their achievements, and prepare forces to participate in the National Ethnic Minority Sports Competition in the coming time.
