Activities to preserve and promote the value of cultural heritage (CHER) and cultural exchange create momentum for sustainable tourism development.
The 2024 Provincial Culture - Tourism Week is organized to contribute to promoting the image and people of Hoa Binh to domestic and international friends.
In order to concretize the Party and State's guidelines and policies on culture and cultural diplomacy, the Provincial People's Committee has disseminated and thoroughly grasped to departments, branches and localities the content of the Cultural Diplomacy Strategy to 2030 approved by the Prime Minister under Decision No. 2013/QD-TTg, dated November 30, 2021; Plan No. 79/KH-UBND, dated May 5, 2022 of the Provincial People's Committee on the implementation of the Cultural Diplomacy Strategy of Hoa Binh province for the period 2022 - 2026. In particular, the province has concretized the detailed annual and phased plans, proposed tasks, solutions and organized the implementation of tasks to build a State-level scientific dossier on Mo Muong cultural heritage to submit to UNESCO according to regulations. In early 2024, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will continue to coordinate with the National Institute of Music (the consulting and dossier-building unit), the Department of Cultural Heritage to submit to the National Cultural Heritage Council to evaluate the Mo Muong dossier, and submit to the Prime Minister for permission to carry out procedures to issue a diplomatic note to send to UNESCO. At the same time, issue a plan to implement the tasks of the Steering Committee on Mo Muong Cultural Heritage of Hoa Binh in preserving and promoting the values of Mo Muong Cultural Heritage in the province in 2024.
The work of preserving and promoting the cultural heritage values of ethnic groups is focused on. In 2024, the Provincial People's Committee issued a plan to implement the Project on preserving and promoting the cultural values of the Muong ethnic group and the "Hoa Binh Culture" foundation, the period of 2023 - 2030 in the province. Organize the planning of the Muong ethnic cultural conservation space in Luy Ai hamlet, Phong Phu commune, Tan Lac district. Organize the ceremony to receive the certificate of ranking as a special national monument for the archaeological site of Trai hamlet cave and Vanh village stone roof (Lac Son district), the Provincial Culture - Tourism Week from November 15 - 23, 2024. Having the opportunity to attend the Provincial Culture - Tourism Week event, Ms. Quach Thi Hoa, a Korean international student, shared: Proud to be born in the cradle of "Hoa Binh Culture", I find my province's culture very unique and distinctive. I will contribute a small part to spreading the cultural heritage values of the ethnic groups in Hoa Binh province to friends at home and abroad.
In addition, activities to promote the connection of cultural diplomacy with political diplomacy and economic diplomacy, activities to promote the image and people of the province are of interest. In 2024, many cultural and artistic activities took place such as: The provincial ethnic art troupe participated in performances to encourage soldiers in Truong Sa and DK1 Platform. Successfully organized a mobile exhibition and propaganda on the topic "Hoa Binh Province's Army and People with Dien Bien Phu Victory" at the Dien Bien Phu Historical Victory Museum. Coordinated with the Embassy of India in Hanoi to organize a program to celebrate International Yoga Day in Hoa Binh province. Participated in the program to promote Hoa Binh tourism at the 20th Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Festival. Developed a video clip to promote tourism in Hoa Binh province; published the book "Discovering community tourism experiences at Hoa Binh Lake tourist area"...
Continue to promote cooperation in tourism development such as: participating in the opening ceremony of the National Tourism Year in Dien Bien province; activities to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Trang An scenic complex being recognized by UNESCO as a world cultural and natural heritage in Ninh Binh province; the ceremony to announce the decision to recognize Moc Chau National Tourist Area; participating in the Famtrip delegation to survey tourist areas and spots in Thanh Hoa province and the Conference on tourism development cooperation in Thanh Hoa province...
Along with that, actively digitalize the tourism sector in communication work, promote the image of local tourism. Build the Smart Tourism Portal of Hoa Binh province at http:/hoabinh.tourism.vn. Digitize 33 tourist attractions and accommodation establishments in the province and post nearly 400 news, articles, photos, and English translations on the Smart Tourism Portal of the province to promote and advertise Hoa Binh tourism.
With specific and practical activities, it has contributed to promoting the cultural heritage of ethnic groups associated with the development of tourism in the province. According to the report of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in 2024, the whole province welcomed 4,346,000 visitors, reaching 103.5% of the plan. Of which, international visitors were 510,000, domestic visitors were 3,836,000. Compared to the previous year, the number of international visitors increased by 13.3%, the number of domestic visitors increased by 9.5%. Total revenue from tourism reached 4,738 billion VND, reaching 103% of the plan, up 17.9% compared to the previous year.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Chuong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, in 2025, the province will continue to promote the propaganda and promotion of traditional cultural values of ethnic groups, tourist areas and attractions, and attractive tourism programs to partners and domestic and foreign tourists, promoting the province's tourism development. Continue to implement signed cooperation agreements with localities: Hua Phan province, Lao People's Democratic Republic; Tuv province, Mongolia; Gimje city, Jeollabuk province and Ulju district, Ulsan city, South Korea.
