On the evening of March 7, at the Ho Chi Minh City Monument Park, the 11th Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival with the theme "Vietnamese Ao Dai - Rising Vietnam" officially opened.
The event takes place from March 1 to 9, to celebrate the 1985th anniversary of the Hai Ba Trung Uprising, the 115th anniversary of International Women's Day (March 8, 1910 - March 8, 2025) and the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).
Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc, Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, spoke at the opening ceremony of Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival 2025.
In his opening speech, Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc, Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee emphasized the importance of preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values of Vietnamese ao dai.
The Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee said that this year's festival is a cultural and tourism event that opens a series of activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification. Along with that, it marks a strong transformation of the city, accompanying the whole country to enter a new era of the nation.
Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival 2025 takes place from March 1 to March 9.
The festival is also a warm greeting to international friends, inviting them to a dynamic, modern city, full of excitement with generous, peace-loving people who constantly strive for happiness.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, one of the highlights of this year's festival is the Ao Dai folk dance performance with the participation of more than 50,000 people combined with the ancient costume parade, taking place on the morning of March 8.
Along with that, more than 40 guests are famous figures in many fields and more than 60 ao dai designers from across the country participated.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, the Ao Dai festival not only honors the beauty of traditional costumes but also contributes to connecting generations, spreading national cultural values and promoting economic and social development, especially in the fields of tourism and fashion.
The 2025 Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival will take place from March 1 to March 9 with main activities including a mass Ao Dai performance on March 8 with the participation of about 3,000 people on Nguyen Hue walking street and more than 50,000 people at connecting points in 21 districts and Thu Duc city.
