Our Party and State always pay special attention to women, demonstrated through policies and strategies to enhance the role and rights of women in society.
In the context of global integration, Vietnamese women are constantly striving, overcoming difficulties and challenges to confidently assert themselves, making important contributions to the development of the country. In the field of professional sports , women have also achieved many great achievements and glories for the Fatherland in regional, continental and world arenas.
Golden girl of Vietnamese athletics
In the past three SEA Games, not only did the track and field athlete Nguyen Thi Oanh bring glory to the country, she also showed her will to train and her spirit of overcoming challenges. The gold medals that Oanh won have truly inspired and motivated Vietnamese women.
At the beginning of the year, the 2025 Vietnam International Half Marathon race continued to witness the shining of record holder Nguyen Thi Oanh, when she won the half marathon distance (21 km) for professional women. Notably, when winning the 2025 Vietnam International Half Marathon, in 2023 and 2024, Oanh set records for Vietnamese athletics.
Having achieved many achievements in international and amateur tournaments, Nguyen Thi Oanh has a stable income to support her family. Not only building a house for her parents, the female athlete from Bac Giang shared that she always tries to earn more income so that her parents can enjoy their old age. In addition, she also donates money from her awards to charity.
Athlete Nguyen Thi Oanh shared: “2025 is a year with many important tournaments for me, especially the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand. I hope I have enough health, courage and perseverance to fulfill the assigned targets and tasks."
On the occasion of International Women's Day, March 8, Oanh also sent her best wishes to all Vietnamese women: "Always try and make efforts in life and work. Wishing each of us to always be beautiful, healthy and achieve our goals in life." Oanh also did not forget to send her best wishes to her mother and compared her mother to "the most beautiful flower in the family."
"Golden Gunman" of People's Police Sports
Female shooter Trinh Thu Vinh - the "Golden Gun" of the National Shooting Team and the People's Public Security Sports always has a busy training and competition schedule. Returning from Thailand with the Gold medal in the 10m mixed men's and women's pistol event at the 2025 Asian Shooting Cup in February 2025, Thu Vinh continued to train with her teammates at the National Sports Training Center in Hanoi .
Considered as the most potential shooter of the People's Public Security Sports in particular and Vietnam Shooting in general, Thu Vinh has achieved many achievements. First were 2 individual and team Gold medals; set a national youth record at the 2018 National Youth Air Gun Championship. Four years later, Thu Vinh continued to win a Gold medal at the 9th National Sports Festival.
Also in 2022, at the 31st SEA Games in Hanoi, she won 1 Silver medal and 1 Bronze medal at the age of 22.
However, the name Thu Vinh will only truly become known in 2023 when she qualifies for the 2024 Paris Olympics after finishing 5th in the women's 10m individual air pistol event at the World Shooting Championship.

At the 2024 Paris Olympics, Thu Vinh continued to make an impression. In just 5 days, she consecutively reached the finals of 2 events: the women's 10m air pistol and the 25m sport pistol. Although she could not bring home an Olympic medal, becoming the first Vietnamese shooter after Hoang Xuan Vinh to reach the finals at an Olympics still helped the girl from Thanh Hoa to top the "Typical Athlete of 2024" poll organized by the Department of Physical Training and Sports.
Athlete Trinh Thu Vinh shared that her greatest wish after a competition is to return home. As the second daughter in a family of three, Thu Vinh’s career as a professional athlete with a busy competition and training schedule does not allow her much time with her family. That is why every time she returns home, it becomes a great joy.
Important contribution to Vietnamese sports
Ms. Le Thi Hoang Yen - Deputy Director of the Department of Sports and Physical Training (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism), affirmed that women play a very important role in the development of Vietnamese sports and physical training.
In the list of achievements of Vietnamese sports in major international sports arenas of regional, continental and world level, female athletes and coaches always have made significant contributions.
For example, female martial artist Tran Hieu Ngan (Taekwondo) became the first Vietnamese athlete to win a Silver medal at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. Or later, talented young female athletes such as Nguyen Thi Anh Vien (swimming), Nguyen Thi Oanh (athletics), Trinh Thu Vinh (shooting), Nguyen Ngoc Tram (Karate) and players of the Vietnamese women's football team..., they all brought home prestigious medals for Vietnamese sports at major international sports events such as ASIAD, SEA Games.

Besides the athletes' achievements, the contributions of female coaches and managers in promoting and spreading the sports movement to the masses are also particularly important.
In recent times, many female cadres have matured and been appointed to leadership positions in important departments, divisions, units, etc. However, there are still few female cadres in the sports industry, so the sports industry at any time is in great need of mature athletes who then go to school and work, continuing to contribute to the sports industry.
In family life, a woman with good health, actively exercising will have good interactions with family members, spreading the spirit of exercising to improve health. They are confident and know how to arrange their life scientifically, are a solid rear, encourage and help their husband and children overcome all difficulties and pressures in life, are a peaceful harbor, a spiritual support for family members after hours of hard study and work./.
