U22 Indonesia and U22 Thailand brawl in the final match of SEA Games 32
On May 17, President of the Indonesian Olympic Committee (NOC) Raja Sapta Oktohari and officials of the Indonesian Football Federation (PSSI) held a meeting and planned to ask FIFA to intervene in the melee in the final match between players and coaching staff of the two teams.
“I reported to Erick Thohir (President of PSSI) and he also affirmed that he would not stay silent because this was a serious and shameful incident.
We also need to look back to see what happened in that match.
We have not yet submitted the report to FIFA, we have only had an internal meeting first. But this will be done quickly,” Raja Sapta Oktohari told CNN Indonesia.
The President of the Indonesian Olympic Committee said that the Indonesian team is ready to take responsibility if there are any violations in the situation leading to the fight in the men's football final of the 32nd SEA Games.
At the same time, Thailand must also frankly admit its mistakes and accept punishment if their players and coaching staff are involved in the fight.
“If we are wrong, we are ready to take the consequences. But if Thailand is wrong, they must take responsibility,” Raja Sapta Oktohari continued.
Previously, in the men's football final of the 32nd SEA Games, the referee had to show 7 red cards and 12 yellow cards to players and coaching staff members of U22 Thailand and U22 Indonesia.
