Speaking at the launching ceremony at the Hanoi bridge, Secretary of the Central Youth Union Nguyen Tuong Lam shared: During his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh taught: "Cadres are the root of all work"; "The success or failure of work depends on good or bad cadres"... Proud to be an organization founded, led and trained by the Communist Party of Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh, since its inception and development until now, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union has always focused on the work of organizing and building the Union, considering cadres as the decisive factor for success in organizing and implementing the Union's revolutionary action movements".
From that meaning, the Central Youth Union Secretariat organized the first national competition for excellent grassroots youth union secretaries in 2023 with the aim of improving the quality of grassroots youth union officials, creating a useful playground for grassroots youth union officials to demonstrate their knowledge and capacity, contributing to training, fostering and updating knowledge for the grassroots youth union secretaries.
It is known that more than 18,000 grassroots youth union secretaries nationwide will participate in the contest with diverse content such as: Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress; Action Program of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union to implement the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress; Major policies of the Party and State on Youth Union work, on youth and children; Professional work of organizing and building the Youth Union; Work of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers, Vietnam Youth Union; history, tradition, national culture; history of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Vietnam Youth Union; major movements, plans, programs, and campaigns of the Union through the periods...
In addition, the grassroots Youth Union secretaries will learn about Vietnam's political, economic, cultural, social, defense, security, and foreign affairs information in the cause of national renewal; the content and methods of operation, education, and youth solidarity of the Youth Union at the grassroots level; skills in persuasion, mobilization, and grasping youth ideology; skills in designing, organizing, and implementing youth activities; leadership and management skills; and public speaking skills.
The contest is organized in 3 rounds:
The weekly round (online on the Thanh Nien Viet Nam mobile app) takes place over 4 weeks from August 7 to September 3;
The provincial round will be held before September 24. After the online qualifying round, the Organizing Committee will send the entire list of candidates who participated in all 4 weeks of competition, ranked in order of highest total score and shortest completion time, to the provinces and cities to organize the appropriate competition format. This round will select 1 candidate to represent the locality.
The national final round will be held in October 2023, with 72 excellent candidates competing in Ho Chi Minh City. In this round, candidates will have to go through the Technology and Experience rounds to select the 20 people with the highest total scores to compete on stage in 3 rounds: Wisdom, Sensitivity and Courage.
For the armed forces (Army Youth Committee and People's Public Security Youth Committee), based on the Central Youth Union's competition plan and practical situation, develop a suitable qualifying round and provincial round plan to select candidates to participate in the final round.
In Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, the Military Youth Union will select the two best candidates to participate in the national final round.
