In the first exam, candidates will take the Literature exam in essay form within 120 minutes.
On the first day of the exam, the weather in Hanoi was mild and favorable for the candidates. From early morning, the authorities were present at the exam sites to regulate traffic. The exam took place on the weekend, so traffic pressure was reduced.
This afternoon, candidates will take the Foreign Language test in 60 minutes, in the form of multiple choice. On the morning of June 11, candidates will take the Math test in the form of multiple choice in 120 minutes.
On June 12, candidates will take the entrance exam for specialized classes at 4 schools: Hanoi Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, Nguyen Hue High School for the Gifted, Chu Van An High School, and Son Tay High School.
In the 2023-2024 school year, Hanoi plans to enroll about 72,000 students in public grade 10, the lowest in the past 4 years. Candidates who fail to pass the public grade 10 entrance exam will study at non-public high schools, vocational education - continuing education centers, and vocational education institutions.
Due to the great pressure of the 10th grade entrance exam, many families have paid a "deposit" to register for some private schools.
