More than 1 million candidates registered for the high school graduation exam

In 2023, according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, candidates studying in grade 12 can register for the high school graduation exam online on the exam management system. Independent candidates can register for the exam directly at the exam registration unit as prescribed by the Department of Education and Training.

Candidates begin to officially register for the exam from 7:00 a.m. on May 4 to 5:00 p.m. on May 13.

As of 5:00 p.m. on May 13, the total number of candidates who successfully registered for the exam was 1,025,166. Of these, the number of candidates who registered for the exam online accounted for 94.51%; the number of candidates who registered for the exam in person accounted for 5.49%; and independent candidates accounted for 4.71%.

The number of candidates registering to take the exam for both high school graduation and university admission is 917,731, accounting for 89.52%. The number of candidates registering to take the exam only for high school graduation is 73,232, accounting for 7.14%. The number of candidates registering to take the exam only for university admission is 34,203, accounting for 3.34%.

During the online exam registration days, the exam management system operated stably, and exam registration was basically convenient for all candidates. The Ministry of Education and Training has arranged staff to support 24/7, regularly contacting and exchanging information with 63 provinces, cities and IT infrastructure support units to remind about the notes during the registration process.

The Ministry of Education and Training notes that from May 14 to May 19, 2023, departments of education and training and schools where candidates register to take the exam will review, check, and correct candidate information for accuracy (if any).

According to the plan of the Ministry of Education and Training, the 2023 high school graduation exam will take place on June 27 and 28.
