With the main theme “Heritage and sustainable tourism development”, the 45th Conference aims to connect cities, local leaders and people, enhance friendship and mutual trust among member local governments; seek opportunities for exchange and support cooperation in many fields, contributing to promoting peace and common prosperity among members of the International Association of French-speaking Mayors in particular and the Francophone community in general.

At the same time, create a forum to discuss realities and challenges; share solutions to handle common issues related to the two key areas of the conference including heritage and sustainable tourism development; expand cooperation between member localities, promote the construction of cooperation projects for the direct benefit of people in priority areas of the association and the conference.

Hue City has been an official member of the AIMF since 1992 and is one of the active members, actively participating in activities to promote and expand cooperative relations with organizations as well as members of the Francophone community. Since then, Hue has received much support from the AIMF in the fields of training, technology transfer as well as finance to implement social security and education projects, etc.

In 2007, Hue city was honored to be chosen to host the 27th General Assembly of AIMF. In 2025, Hue continued to be chosen by the AIMF Association as the venue for the 45th General Assembly of AIMF.
