Today (August 15), U23 Vietnam will play a friendly match with U23 Bahrain to prepare for the 2023 Southeast Asian U23 tournament. This match will take place at 6:00 p.m. This afternoon. Due to the nature of the two teams' professional work, the match will take place without spectators or media coverage.

After the friendly match with U23 Bahrain, coach Hoang Anh Tuan and his team will stay one more night in Bangkok. On the morning of August 16, the whole team will move to Rayong - the venue for the 2023 Southeast Asian U23 tournament. Here, U23 Vietnam will have 3 days to prepare for the opening match against U23 Laos in Group C.

Yesterday (August 14), U23 Vietnam arrived in Thailand and had their first training session in Bangkok. This was also the only training session of coach Hoang Anh Tuan and his team at the training ground of BG Pathum United FC, where the friendly match with U23 Bahrain will take place.

With a squad that includes many new players joining the team after completing their time playing for their home clubs in the V-League and the First Division, the most important thing, as shared by coach Hoang Anh Tuan, is to check, evaluate the form and the ability of these players to adapt to the playing style of U23 Vietnam. Therefore, he divided the team into two groups with a harmonious arrangement of personnel in the warm-up and tactical deployment before organizing the confrontation on 2/3 of the field.

The training session of U23 Vietnam was limited to 90 minutes, but still ensured the professional requirements of the coaching staff. The good news is that all the players are in good physical condition and there are no injuries.

Meanwhile, U23 Bahrain has played many friendly matches with Thai clubs. Notably, they also had 2 matches with U23 Kuwait (0-0 draw) and U23 Thailand (2-0 win). Through studying the opponents, Coach Hoang Anh Tuan highly appreciated the quality of the West Asian team and hoped that the "test of fire" with this team would help the coaching staff see more clearly the remaining problems in the U23 Vietnam squad, thereby making timely adjustments.
