Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Trung Chinh acknowledged that over 28 years of establishment and development, the City's Charity and Children's Rights Protection Association has fulfilled its responsibilities very well. That is the effort to gather domestic and foreign organizations and individuals to voluntarily operate for humanitarian, charitable purposes and protect children's rights; accompany the city's programs "5 no, 3 yes"; "4 safe", the policy of hunger eradication and poverty reduction, the national target program for children... actively contributing to ensuring social security, promoting the city's socio-economic development.

Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Trung Chinh said that in the coming time, the city will continue to pay attention to maintaining social security policies and ensuring people's lives, especially those with revolutionary contributions; adjusting and raising the social assistance standards, expanding the beneficiaries of social security policies, raising the support level for building and repairing houses for those with revolutionary contributions and poor households, and issuing many other policies with deep humanity.

The city is making every effort to develop Da Nang not only as an economically developed locality but also as a place where every resident feels a peaceful and happy life.

Therefore, the city leaders hope that all levels of the association will continue to promote the achieved results, innovate the content and methods of operation, closely follow the practical life of poor and disadvantaged households, people with disabilities, and children in especially difficult circumstances to have appropriate and effective support programs.

In addition, continue to innovate, create and diversify forms of propaganda on the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws on charity, humanitarian work and protection of children's rights. Further improve the effectiveness of mobilizing social resources to continue to carry out emulation movements, help vulnerable groups in society, contribute to the city government in taking good care of the people and ensuring social security.

City leaders presented plaques of appreciation and flowers to the donors.

Reporting at the ceremony, Chairwoman of the City Children's Rights Protection and Charity Association Le Thi Tam said that after 28 years of establishment and development, the association has developed more than 12,535 members, 1,025 branches and affiliated clubs. The association has actively mobilized domestic and foreign resources, built 730 new houses; repaired and upgraded more than 570 houses to help poor and disadvantaged households with children settle down and start a business.

Awarded scholarships to 43,770 poor students; donated more than 7,500 wheelchairs, hand-held bicycles, and special vehicles to people with disabilities and children with cerebral palsy; provided free medical examinations and medicine to hundreds of thousands of people.

At the same time, we provided free care and nourishment until the end of life for more than 100 lonely elderly people; donated more than 8.5 million portions of porridge, rice, and milk to patients, poor children and their relatives; nurtured and supported the education of more than 130 children and 175 poor students; and sponsored 32 orphans.

Organizations, businesses, and philanthropists at home and abroad supported the spring meeting program "Warm Human Love" with more than 16.8 billion VND.

In addition, the Association also received, consulted, and supported nearly 100 cases of child rights violations; organized seminars, talks, training courses, and nearly 2,400 communication sessions for more than 200,000 children and parents to participate. The total value of money and goods used to organize activities was more than 600 billion VND, contributing to the effective implementation of social security policies and child rights protection in the city.

At the ceremony, authorized by the President, Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Trung Chinh awarded the First Class Labor Medal to the City's Charity and Children's Rights Protection Association.

On this occasion, the Association also received support for the spring meeting program "Warmth of Humanity" from 31 organizations, businesses, and philanthropists at home and abroad, with a total cost of more than 16.8 billion VND.
