Every day, the old cultural house of Lang Nu village is crowded with tourists who come to burn incense and pay tribute to the victims of the landslide and visit the museum. Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim, Lang Nu village, Phuc Khanh commune, Bao Yen district - a survivor of the landslide, takes on the role of tour guide. Ms. Kim shared: "Lang Nu is not alone, people still look up to, care for and worry about everyone. Why don't we try to overcome the loss, so that our new life is more stable, better and safer?"

The old cultural house of Lang Nu village welcomes visitors to visit the museum.

Recovering from the pain, the people of Lang Nu are looking for ways to develop the economy. Some people are taking advantage of clean water sources to return to raising sturgeon - a way that brought high income before the natural disaster. Meanwhile, many households are focusing on developing forestry - the main crop of the village. Every day, Mr. Hoang Van Voi spends a lot of time taking care of his nearly 20-hectare cinnamon garden. In just a few years, when the trees are ready to be harvested, he and his father will have a significant source of income. Mr. Voi shared: "In the future, I also hope that all the households that have suffered will rise up to develop the economy again. I hope that people will strengthen their love, put aside their pain but not forget. I am lucky to be alive, to live for myself, to live for my deceased relatives."

Village people seek direction in economic development.

Following the Prime Minister’s direction, Bao Yen district is developing a project and will soon start renovating the entire field buried in the landslide. The main direction is to support people in choosing crops suitable for soil and climate conditions and building a chain of links in agricultural product consumption.

Mr. Hoang Quoc Bao, Secretary of Bao Yen District Party Committee said: “People here are still mainly farmers, production is associated with slash-and-burn and wet rice fields. Following the direction of the Prime Minister and provincial leaders, we are focusing on restoring the old Lang Nu field, ensuring long-term livelihoods for people.”

Build a project to renovate the entire field buried in the landslide.

Along with that, recently a unit committed to continue supporting and accompanying the people of Lang Nu to make handicraft products from available materials (photo below) to serve tourists and export. The unit committed to purchasing all output products for the people, in order to create a stable source of income.

With the joint help from the government and community, and the strong aspiration of the people to rise up, new vitality is appearing in the land that once suffered much pain.
