Gia Lai Provincial Journalists Association commends 2 groups and 16 individuals with outstanding achievements

In the first 6 months of 2024, the Gia Lai Provincial Journalists Association proposed to consider admitting 10 new members, receiving 1 member's activities, bringing the total number of members to 307; at the same time, considered proposing to award the "For the cause of Vietnamese journalism" medal to 9 members.

In addition to the Senior Journalists Club and the Female Journalists Club that have been in operation since 2023, the Association has also launched the Gia Lai Provincial Resident Reporters Club. The Association also publishes special issues of Gia Lai Journalists, ensuring quality in content and form; successfully organizes the Giap Thin Spring Press Festival and the "Green Banh Chung" Festival in 2024.

The Provincial Journalists Association has selected 15 outstanding works to participate in the 18th National Press Awards - 2023 (an increase of 4 works compared to last year). As a result, the 5-part series "Going to the Sun" by the group of authors Le Anh - Vinh Hoang (Gia Lai Newspaper Journalists Association) won the consolation prize. The Association also deployed to all members to participate in the 1st Central Highlands Press Awards - 2023; a press award organized by the locality and central ministries and branches.

Regarding journalism training, the Association coordinated to open a journalism training course with the theme "Skills in exploiting information to develop stories about ethnic minorities". At the 2024 Central Highlands Regional Journalism Sports Festival (expanded) held in Dak Nong province, the Gia Lai Journalists Association ranked second overall.

In the last 6 months of the year, the Association will coordinate with departments, branches and sectors to effectively manage press activities in the province; continue to implement the program to support high-quality press works in 2024. In addition, coordinate with the Vietnam Journalists Association to organize the summary and award ceremony of the 1st Central Highlands Press Award - 2023 on July 26, 2024 in Pleiku City; summarize and award the 13th Gia Lai Provincial Press Award in 2024.

The Association also set a goal of opening 2 short-term journalism training courses for reporters and members; organizing conferences to meet reporters and journalists from central press agencies, ministries, branches and other localities who are resident in Gia Lai province; participating in the summary of the Emulation Cluster of political-social-professional organizations of the province and the Emulation Cluster of the Journalists Association of the Central Highlands provinces in 2024 in Lam Dong province...

At the conference, the Provincial Journalists Association awarded 2 collectives and 16 individuals with outstanding achievements in the Association's work in 2023. Delegates also agreed to propose that the province give special awards to the group of authors who won the 18th National Press Award - 2023.
