Faced with this reality, Sa Pa town (Lao Cai province) has been drastically implementing many solutions to gradually reduce and end this situation.

Vice Chairman of Sa Pa Town People's Committee Do Van Tan said that he has directed units to develop regulations on begging, street vending, and performing arts in the town center.

Along with that, we need to step up propaganda to people and tourists not to give money to children or buy goods from street vendors on all media and social networking platforms.

According to Mr. Do Van Tan, in the coming time, Sa Pa will build systematic, rich and attractive weekend cultural programs and activities to attract tourists.

In addition, the town is reviewing the streets to arrange sales points for people who can actually produce handicrafts. Communes and wards will promote people to learn, change jobs, and work at businesses, restaurants, and hotels to earn income.

In recent years, the situation of soliciting, stalking, and street vending in Sa Pa town has been complicated and prolonged.

According to statistics, Sa Pa has over 500 cases of people selling goods by soliciting and following tourists; including both adults and children, mainly ethnic minorities in the area. This activity has created an unsightly image and affected the tourism development of the district.

Previously, Sa Pa has proposed many solutions to gradually reduce the situation of soliciting tourists; in which, the arrangement of sales areas for local people in the center and tourist attractions has received high approval from the people.
