(CLO) On the afternoon of January 7, the Gia Lai Provincial Journalists Association held the 10th Executive Committee meeting, term VIII, to summarize the Association's work in 2024 and deploy tasks for 2025.
In 2024, the Gia Lai Provincial Journalists Association had many outstanding activities, including successfully organizing and coordinating press awards. Specifically, the Association closely coordinated with the Vietnam Journalists Association to organize the first Central Highlands Press Award in 2023; accordingly, authors in Gia Lai won 1 second prize, 1 third prize, and 2 consolation prizes. The Association also selected 15 outstanding works to participate in the 18th National Press Award - 2023 (an increase of 4 works compared to the previous year). As a result, a series of articles by the Gia Lai Newspaper Journalists Association won a consolation prize.

For the 13th Provincial Press Awards - 2024, the Association received a total of 127 works in 4 types of press to participate in the contest. The Organizing Committee selected 40 excellent press works in 4 types to award prizes.
Regarding the 2024 high-quality journalism support program, the Association has considered supporting 33/69 registered topics, including 4 works achieving category A, 12 works achieving category B and 17 works achieving category C. Last year, the Provincial Journalists Association also coordinated to open 3 journalism training courses with 230 members and reporters participating.
Social work and charity continued to receive attention with the coordination of donating 1 charity house with a total cost of 70 million VND; mobilizing contributions to support people affected by storm No. 3 with an amount of over 27 million VND; coordinating with the Emulation Bloc of political-social-professional organizations to visit and give gifts to Ia Lop Border Guard Station (Ia Mo commune, Chu Prong district); donating 10 bicycles to poor students overcoming difficulties in Ia Mo commune with a total cost of 15 million VND.
In 2025, the Provincial Journalists Association proposed a number of key activities: Coordinate the organization of the Spring Press Festival of At Ty in 2025; exhibition, introduction of achievements of 100 years of Vietnam Revolutionary Press, Gia Lai Provincial Press on June 21; organize the 14th Gia Lai Provincial Press Award - 2025; host the Press Sports Festival of the Journalists Association of the Central Highlands provinces; organize "Gia Lai Journalists' Song" (expanded). The Association also continues to effectively implement the program to support high-quality press works; open 3 short-term journalism training courses; organize the 9th Congress of the Gia Lai Provincial Journalists Association for the 2025-2030 term...
The conference unanimously proposed that the Vietnam Journalists Association award certificates of merit to 1 collective and 1 individual; proposed that the Provincial Journalists Association commend 3 collectives and 17 individuals with outstanding achievements in the Association's work in 2024.
