According to statistics, from 2021 to present, the Department of Enterprise Development has coordinated with ministries, localities, and associations to proactively implement policies to support businesses in digital transformation in accordance with the law on supporting small and medium enterprises as well as mobilizing international resources. With the support of GIZ and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the Department of Enterprise Development has provided direct training for nearly 14,200 businesses nationwide; built a network of more than 150 consultants on digital transformation to develop a digital ecosystem for businesses; provided in-depth consulting support to more than 400 businesses to build and implement a digital transformation roadmap...

At the conference, experts and large enterprises shared opportunities and challenges for Vietnamese enterprises in applying BigData and AI, applying in business administration to increase productivity, and models in the world that can be applied in Vietnam.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Dennis Quennet - Director of the Sustainable Economic Development Program, GIZ International Cooperation Organization said: Currently, dual transformation has become a new trend globally, in which digital solutions will be applied to better manage environmental issues, towards green growth and sustainable development.

According to Mr. Dennis Quennet, digital transformation also helps small and medium-sized enterprises improve productivity, find new markets more easily, and thereby enhance competitiveness in the context of strong globalization. However, digitalization also has potential risks related to cybersecurity, data protection and issues related to consumer rights. We need good management solutions to optimize the benefits and minimize the risks from the digital transformation process.

The highlight of the conference was the signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding between the Department of Enterprise Development and 5 technology enterprises to promote and support digital transformation for enterprises, especially small and medium enterprises in Vietnam. The total value of support commitment is more than 33 billion VND.

With the results achieved at the conference, businesses, especially small and medium enterprises, will have more orientation, opportunities, and potential to improve their competitiveness in the digital transformation process, bringing businesses to strong development, contributing to building a sustainable Vietnamese digital economy in the new period.

The article is supported by the Plan "Supporting digital transformation for small and medium enterprises in Hanoi for the period 2021 - 2025" issued by the Hanoi People's Committee in Decision No. 3457/QD-UBND dated September 23, 2022.
