The One UI 7 beta program that was rolled out to the Galaxy S24 series in early December 2024 is still ongoing, and according to recent reports, the stable rollout could happen sometime next March.
One UI 7 will be the final update for some Galaxy devices
A more worrying issue is that some Galaxy devices will no longer receive major OS updates after being upgraded to Android 15.
The list of devices that will stop receiving updates after One UI 7 includes Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, Galaxy S21 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3, Galaxy A14, Galaxy A14 5G, Galaxy M33, Galaxy M14, Galaxy M14 5G, Galaxy F14, Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2022), and Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro.
Still getting incremental updates of One UI 7
While One UI 7 will be the final upgrade for the aforementioned devices, they will still receive One UI 7 incremental updates like One UI 7.1 and security patches for a while.
Users of the devices listed above should consider upgrading to newer models. However, there is no need to rush as the Android 15-based One UI 7 rollout will take some time to complete. Once that is done, Samsung can start rolling out the One UI 7.1 update, although there are reports that the delay of One UI 7 could result in the cancellation of One UI 7.1.
If you're not in a rush to update your software, consider waiting until the One UI 8 rollout is complete before upgrading your device. The stable Android 16 version is expected to be released around June, and Samsung is reportedly not delaying the One UI 8 rollout like it did with One UI 7.
