Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper Le Quoc Minh said that more than 99 years ago, on June 21, 1925, Thanh Nien newspaper, founded by leader Nguyen Ai Quoc, published its first issue, marking the birth of Vietnam's revolutionary press.
The current Party newspaper system includes press agencies with a long history and tradition of the Central and local levels, which are the voice of the Party and State and the forum of the masses; they are the most official, reliable and accurate channels of information and propaganda, with prestige both domestically and internationally.
According to Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper Le Quoc Minh, since Resolution No. 35-NQ/TW of the 12th Politburo on "Strengthening the protection of the Party's ideological foundation and fighting against erroneous and hostile views in the new situation" was issued, press agencies in the Party newspaper system have participated very actively and effectively, in many diverse forms and creative ways.
Special pages, columns, and articles on protecting the Party's ideological foundation are maintained regularly. Among them are many excellent works that have a profound impact on cadres, Party members, and the masses, strengthening the people's trust in the Party and the country's path to socialism. Thereby, contributing to quickly bringing the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws into real life; grasping, identifying, and promptly and effectively fighting and refuting erroneous and hostile viewpoints.
Party press agencies also play an important role in orienting public opinion, spreading and enhancing positive information in the daily news flow, and promptly reflecting the thoughts, aspirations and legitimate recommendations of the people, contributing to strengthening the flesh-and-blood relationship between the Party and the people and the great national unity bloc.
“Practice poses many difficulties and challenges for Party press agencies in carrying out the task of protecting the Party's ideological foundation and fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints. In particular, as our country integrates more and more deeply into the international community, along with the explosion of information on the Internet and social networks, it creates conditions for hostile forces and erroneous viewpoints to take advantage of cyberspace to communicate and sabotage the Party's ideological foundation. Therefore, it is necessary to have comprehensive and synchronous solutions to further improve the quality of Party press agencies' operations in the new situation,” emphasized Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper Le Quoc Minh.
Speaking at the workshop, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics Le Van Loi said that the task of protecting the Party's ideological foundation and fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints in the new situation continues to face many difficulties and challenges due to the complicated developments in the regional and world situations. This is posing increasingly complex and heavy requirements and demands on agencies in the Party's press system in implementing Resolution 35-NQ/TW of the Politburo.
"Therefore, it is very necessary to continue to improve the quality and promote more effectively the key role of the Party newspaper system in protecting the Party's ideological foundation and fighting against current erroneous and hostile viewpoints," emphasized Le Van Loi, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics.

At the workshop, delegates focused on exchanging and discussing a number of important contents. Among them, they analyzed and clarified the theoretical and practical basis of the Party newspaper system with the work of protecting the Party's ideological foundation and fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints.
Specifically, the Party's viewpoints and guidelines and the State's policies and laws on the participation of the Party newspaper system in protecting the Party's ideological foundation and fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints. At the workshop, Major General, Associate Professor, Doctor, People's Teacher Nguyen Ba Duong - Member of the Central Theoretical Council, in charge of the Expert Group of the Central Military Commission's Steering Committee 35, shared contents related to promoting the role of Party newspapers in protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints; Colonel, journalist Do Phu Tho - Expert of the Central Military Commission's Steering Committee 35, shared difficulties when working on the topic of fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints in the press today and experiences from how to collect information to how to present works to ensure sharp and convincing arguments.
After a period of active preparation, the Conference Organizing Committee received 62 presentations from leaders, scientists, teachers, and journalists from Central and local Departments, Ministries, and branches, the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, the Academy of Journalism and Communication, and press agencies across the country, with rich and diverse topics and perspectives.
