According to regulations of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the International Air Transport Association (IATA), lithium batteries and electronic devices using this type of battery must be transported properly to avoid the risk of fire and explosion, threatening the safety of passengers and flights.
From here, the National Airlines clearly states: lithium batteries are not accepted for transport in checked baggage and can only be carried in carry-on baggage because they can be dangerous during transportation.
Passengers should remove lithium batteries from their carry-on baggage and place them in a visible place during the flight. For safety reasons, passengers should not charge lithium batteries from USB ports on board the aircraft and should not use lithium batteries to charge electronic devices.

Passengers may carry lithium batteries and electronic devices using this type of battery with a capacity of less than 100Wh in carry-on baggage, with a maximum quantity of 20 batteries, including spare batteries and batteries installed in the device.
For lithium batteries with a capacity of 100Wh to 160Wh, passengers must notify and obtain approval from the airline before bringing them on board with a maximum of two. Lithium batteries with a capacity of over 160Wh or damaged or swollen batteries will not be transported by plane in any form.
Vietnam Airlines recommends that passengers check information on lithium battery transportation regulations before their flight to ensure a safe and smooth journey. As the national airline, Vietnam Airlines always puts passenger safety as an absolute priority. The airline constantly updates the highest safety regulations and standards, ensuring that each flight brings peace of mind to passengers.
