Professor Chu Duc Trinh: Changing jobs for the sake of a high salary in the short term will make it difficult to do big things.

According to Professor Dr. Chu Duc Trinh, if employees change jobs just for a short-term goal, for a short-term high income, then they should consider it, because 'changing jobs for short-term goals will never achieve great things'.

On March 22, the University of Technology, Vietnam National University, Hanoi organized the Job Fair - Connecting to Success (UET Job Fair 2025).

The program has the participation of 76 businesses from diverse industries and fields such as information technology, artificial intelligence, telecommunications solutions, microchip design, electronics, automation, etc.

'Businesses fear the problem of Vietnamese workers changing jobs too much'

Sharing with students at the program, Prof. Dr. Chu Duc Trinh - Principal of the University of Technology, Vietnam National University, Hanoi - said that the whole country is currently implementing a revolution in reform and streamlining to prepare for breakthroughs and rise in the new era.

Mr. Trinh believes that this is an opportunity for the whole country, every industry, every field, every business, every university and a great opportunity for all young people.

"Success is only for businesses, units and those who dare to dream, dreams must be big", Mr. Trinh stated his opinion and believed that people with big dreams must know how to strive and sacrifice for their dreams to create success in the long run.

Mr. Trinh said that recently the school has worked with many large enterprises in the world that intend to invest in Vietnam. However, according to him, what many enterprises "fear" the most is the problem of Vietnamese workers changing jobs too much.

"If employees feel that finding a new job is more effective, will help them develop in the long term, and will help them grow more in their current job, they can consider changing jobs.

Income is very important to employees, but if you only change jobs for a short-term goal, for a short-term high income, you should consider it. Changing jobs for short-term goals will never achieve great things," said Mr. Trinh.

How do technology students adapt?

Mr. Trinh said that according to world statistics, a worker from the time he starts working until he retires usually goes through about 4-6 jobs.

In each job change, you must supplement knowledge and skills suitable for the new job, especially skills to adapt to the new job and new living conditions.

According to him, there will be no university, even the top 1 university in the world, that can provide lifelong knowledge and skills to citizens.

Therefore, during the working process, everyone must equip themselves with knowledge and lifelong learning skills, learn unknown things to adapt to the job; knowledge that has been learned must be relearned.

For technology students, according to him, you can only succeed if you know how to choose difficult tasks, be a leader, choose highly challenging tasks that promise great success.

To do the above, students need to study best, especially focusing on the most basic and academic knowledge and skills to be able to fly high and far.

"Technology students will have to be the pillars of developing digital technologies, turning digital technology into a digital production method for every home and every business.

Technology students also need to contribute to spreading the spirit of readiness to exploit digital services for every citizen, contributing to the cause of popularizing digital education and popularizing AI education that the Party and Government are looking forward to," said Mr. Trinh.
