Nguyen Lee Hieu won the regional gold medal at the international music competition in the US.

Nguyen Lee Hieu (9 years old, Australian of Vietnamese origin) has again won the gold medal in the Vietnam regional qualifying round of the 2025 Chicago International Music Competition, following many international music awards he has received.

The Chicago International Music Competition 2025, Vietnam regional qualifying round took place in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City last weekend.

In addition to the gold medal, Nguyen Lee Hieu was also honored to be awarded the Champion title in the Rising Star category, recognizing outstanding talent in the group of contestants under 18 years old. This is a special title given to the most outstanding contestant.

Nguyen Lee Hieu conquered the international judges with his skillful ukulele performance, confidence and emotional performance style.

After an impressive victory in the regional round, Lee Hieu will represent Vietnam at the international finals in Chicago (USA) in July.

Previously, in August 2024, Nguyen Lee Hieu excellently won first prize in the Guitar - Ukulele competition for primary school age at the Hong Kong International Music Festival 2024.

Nguyen Lee Hieu currently holds Australian citizenship, lives in Ho Chi Minh City and attends an international primary school here.
