Performing arts, learning to debate, self-confidence
During the two days that Thanh Nien Newspaper organized the 2025 Exam Season Consulting program in Lam Dong province, many students enthusiastically participated in performing a variety of performances from singing, dancing to jumping, attracting thousands of viewers. The special thing is that these performances are not only to show off their dancing or singing, but also an opportunity for students to send meaningful messages, according to Nguyen Dang Tri Nhan, a student at Da Lat University.
Specifically, Nhan and his team members began preparing for the dance performance called "Vietnamese Identity in Harmony with the Universe" in mid-February, continuously spending time from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. to practice. The performance consists of many different parts, incorporating elements such as lotus choreography, rooster crowing, Ao Ba Ba costumes or hoodies... to convey the message that in the process of reaching out to the new era, we should not forget Vietnamese identity and culture.
"Even when we step out into the world, inside we are still Vietnamese people with sincerity, honesty and warmth. These are all proud characteristics that make up the Vietnamese identity, and are also what we should maintain when interacting with international friends," Nhan confided.

Currently a fourth-year law student - a major unrelated to artistic activities - according to Nhan, investing in performances over the years has greatly supported his studies, not just for fun. For example, Nhan has learned how to present effectively in front of a crowd and has a spirit of self-confidence. "That is something that the law profession really needs in the process of defending clients," the male student shared.
In addition, the process of preparing for performances also trains Nhan to think critically and logically. Because the male student has to calculate every second what content to express, how the parts will be linked together and how this will be expressed through choreography. "Knowledge of law also helps me clearly visualize the right and wrong in the script design process, avoiding conveying inappropriate messages," Nhan shared.

Agreeing, Vo Duc Huy, a first-year student majoring in public relations at Yersin University, said that in addition to gaining confidence, participating in performing arts also helps him connect with many other people, and at the same time has the opportunity to be exposed to a completely new environment outside the classroom. "After graduating, we can pursue a career as a choreographer or participate in stage performances," Huy said.
Sharing more about the dance performance in the 2025 Exam Consulting program, the male student said that he and the members practiced for nearly a month to honor the beauty of Da Lat city through hiphop choreography, from basic to locking. "With the music of Ma Hong Da Lat , we hope to introduce a modern, fresh atmosphere but still mixed with a bit of poetry and lyricism of the city of thousands of flowers," Huy shared.

Opportunity to learn more about the field of study
Dong Hanh Trang, a third-year student majoring in Japanese Studies at Dalat University, and her classmates chose to perform a performance about Japanese culture, which also made many students excited to join in. The performance consisted of three parts, starting with the traditional Soran Bushi dance of Hokkaido fishermen, followed by the famous J-pop song Kawaikute Gomen and ending with the song Ojou-sama it's time to go to bed .
In the performances, Trang's group wore costumes with Japanese influences such as Haori, maid and butler outfits. "Through this, we hope to not only introduce Japanese culture from traditional to modern but also help students become more interested in studying about the land of cherry blossoms," the female student said, adding that the group researched, learned and practiced according to dance instruction videos on YouTube.

Meanwhile, the DTD dance group led by Dong Lam Quynh, a 12th grade student at Duc Trong High School (Lam Dong), "heated up" the stage of the 2025 Exam Consulting program with vibrant melodies and synchronized choreography. "All the dances we choreographed are for each other," Quynh shared, adding that the dance group was established 4 years ago and has been maintained by generations of students to the present.
The female student shared that through the artistic activities in the dance group, they not only satisfy their passion but also have more opportunities to develop soft skills, from teamwork when having to practice dancing to being in sync, managing and arranging time to both study and do artistic activities effectively, or building discipline because being late will affect the whole group. "The most important thing is to learn how to listen and understand each other," Quynh commented.

Previously, the dance group of Duc Trong High School where Quynh participated also won many first, second and third prizes organized by Duc Trong District Youth Union and notable awards in private competitions such as Dalat Best Dance Crew... These are achievements that show the serious and meticulous investment of the students even though they are always in the stage of having to prepare for exams in class and even at the end of the year.
