On March 20, Minh Duc Commune People's Committee provided information about the fire.
According to initial information, at around 10:30 p.m. on March 19, a large fire broke out at the house of Mr. BXTr (born in 1996, Van Tai village, Minh Duc commune, Tu Ky district, Hai Duong).
The house that caught fire was rented by Mr. Truong nearly a month ago, and has 2 floors and 1 attic. At the time of the fire, there were 5 people in the house, including Ms. NTTL (born in 1999, Mr. Tr's wife), children BMN (born in 2022), BMP (born in 2023), BMĐ (born in 2023, children of Mr. Tr and Ms. L) and Ms. PTN (born in 1951, Ms. L's grandmother). At that time, all 5 people were on the 2nd floor of the house.
Upon receiving the news, the People's Committee of Minh Duc commune directed the commune police to mobilize security forces to quickly arrive at the fire, coordinate with local people to use fire fighting tools and equipment on the spot. At the same time, they contacted the Tu Ky town police force to support traffic flow; the district medical center dispatched 2 ambulances to rescue the victims.
The Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Department (Hai Duong Provincial Police) also mobilized fire trucks and officers and soldiers to the scene to put out the fire; organized a search team, and used professional measures to safely rescue 5 people trapped in the bathroom on the 2nd floor.
By around 11:15 p.m., the fire was completely extinguished and five trapped people were rescued. The victims suffered from heat and smoke-induced respiratory problems and are receiving medical attention, but their lives are not in danger.
According to the representative of Minh Duc Commune People's Committee, the fire caused about 10 million VND in damage, with no casualties. The cause of the fire is being clarified by the authorities.
