Nearly 1,000 SeABank employees join forces to clean up beaches in 11 provinces and cities, aiming for sustainable development

Responding to Vietnam Sea and Islands Week (June 1-8) and World Oceans Day (June 8), on June 8, 2024, nearly 1,000 SeABank employees joined hands to clean up the coast and promote marine environmental protection in 11 coastal provinces and cities nationwide. The activity is part of the Let's Go Green with SeABank - Ocean Cleanup program of Southeast Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SeABank, Hose: SSB) to keep the coast clean, protect the ocean towards sustainable development, contributing to creating value for the community in line with one of the five core values ​​of SeABank - For the Community.

The Let's Go Green with SeABank - Ocean Cleanup program was launched by SeABank with the goal of collecting and cleaning up waste on the coast, finding suitable waste treatment solutions and installing more public trash bins at beaches to encourage local tourists to dispose of trash in the right place. Accordingly, nearly 1,000 SeABank employees in 11 provinces and cities including Da Nang, Quang Nam, Binh Dinh, Nha Trang, Quang Ninh, Thanh Hoa, Thai Binh, Ha Tinh, Nghe An, Vung Tau, Hai Phong will simultaneously clean up the local sea on June 8. A series of meaningful activities were implemented by the Bank's employees such as: periodically cleaning up coastal trash; Donating public trash bins at famous tourist beaches; Donating stone benches by the beach with the message "Let's Go Green with SeABank"; Placing signs to propagate messages on protecting the marine environment... will help the beaches of Nguyen Tat Thanh (Da Nang), Thanh My (Quang Nam), Quy Nhon (Binh Dinh), Hon Mot (Nha Trang), Cai Dam (Quang Ninh), Sam Son (Thanh Hoa), Con Vanh (Thai Binh), Thach Hai (Ha Tinh), Cua Hoi (Nghe An), Bai Sau (Vung Tau) and Do Son (Hai Phong) reduce the amount of waste and become greener and cleaner.

In addition to practical actions in 11 localities, the Let's Go Green with SeABank - Ocean Cleanup program also hopes to raise public awareness of waste management issues, calling on everyone to join hands to protect the marine environment, create a green lifestyle to limit climate change, promote the construction of a green economy, circular economy and effectively implement anti-plastic waste policies to contribute to building an increasingly beautiful and sustainable Vietnam. In addition to the coastal cleaning campaign, SeABank also focuses on afforestation activities towards preserving the green environment. In recent years, SeABank has joined hands with the Government to "Plant one billion trees in the period of 2021-2025", donating nearly 300,000 trees to localities (Thanh Hoa, Dak Lak, Ha Tinh, Long An) to support afforestation and economic development, and conserve biodiversity resources.
