Inauguration of “India Corner” at Nguyen Dinh Chieu Library

Through diplomatic activities, Nguyen Dinh Chieu Library in Ben Tre province received 1 desktop computer, 1 long wooden table with iron legs, 1 5-tier iron shelf, 1 chair and 100 books and leaflets with various topics about India to arrange the space for books and documents about India.

The Indian Corner at Nguyen Dinh Chieu Library has Vietnamese and Vietnamese-English bilingual books on Indian culture and diplomatic activities between Vietnam and India, with a total cost of about 1,200 USD. Through this, it contributes to connecting localities of India and Ben Tre province.

Dr. Vipra Pandey - Consul General of India in Ho Chi Minh City said: Currently, the Consulate General of India has sponsored more than 20 "India Corners" at universities, provinces and cities to share knowledge and promote cooperation, enhance mutual understanding between the people of the two countries.

Leaders of Ben Tre province and delegates presented a letter of thanks and gifts to Dr. Vipra Pandey - Consul General of India in Ho Chi Minh City.

  Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Tran Thi Kieu Ton said: The inauguration and operation of the Indian Corner at Nguyen Dinh Chieu Library is a cultural exchange event between the two countries, an opportunity for both sides to learn about the unique cultural features of each country, thereby enhancing exchanges, connections and cooperation for development in the coming time. Through books and electronic documents, it will also contribute to the effective implementation of cultural diplomacy and people-to-people diplomacy between the two localities.
