The 2030 World Cup will be hosted by three countries: Morocco, Portugal and Spain. Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay will each host one of the first three matches to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the tournament.
Saudi Arabians rejoice as FIFA officially confirms hosting rights for 2034 World Cup
Argentina has chosen the legendary Monumental stadium in Buenos Aires (capacity of up to 84,000 seats) to host its only match at the 2030 World Cup. While Uruguay has chosen the Estadio Centenario in Montevideo and Paraguay will also choose the Estadio Defensores del Chaco or a new stadium under construction.
After these South American countries host the first three matches of the 2030 World Cup, the rest of the tournament will take place in Europe and North Africa. Spain will host the majority of the matches at nine stadiums, including famous stadiums such as Camp Nou (Barcelona) under construction, Bernabeu (Real Madrid), Metropolitano (Atletico Madrid)... Morocco will host six venues including Casablanca, Agadir, Marrakech, Rabat, Tangier and Fez. Portugal will host two venues with stadiums in Lisbon and Porto.
The 2030 World Cup will take place in the summer from June 13 to July 21, 2030, and will also feature 48 teams in the finals, like the upcoming 2026 World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada.
After 12 years, the World Cup has returned to Asia with host country Saudi Arabia after Qatar in 2022.
Meanwhile, in the next World Cup in 2034, FIFA chose Saudi Arabia as the host country, when this country was the only one participating in the race for the right to host. Thus, after Qatar hosted the 2022 World Cup, Asia continued to have a host country at the World Cup after only 12 years.
The 2034 World Cup will be held in 15 state-of-the-art stadiums, according to the announcement of the host country Saudi Arabia. The time of this World Cup has not been announced by FIFA and there will also be 48 teams participating in the final round.
According to European press, the 2034 World Cup will be held in winter similar to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, because summer in Saudi Arabia and these West Asian countries is extremely hot with outdoor temperatures sometimes reaching 50 degrees Celsius.
