Celebrating 50 years of Liberation Day of Binh Son district

(Baoquangngai.vn) - The District Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Binh Son District solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the District Liberation Day (March 25, 1975 - March 25, 2025).

The celebration was held on the evening of March 21. Attending the celebration were Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hoang Giang; Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Cao Phuc; Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee Luong Kim Son; leaders of Military Region 5; provincial leaders of all periods; leaders of departments, branches and localities; leaders of Binh Son district of all periods and leaders of twin districts with Binh Son district.

At the ceremony, Chairman of Binh Son District People's Committee Nguyen Ngoc Tran read a speech reviewing the tradition of fighting to liberate the homeland and the process of building and developing Binh Son District over the past 50 years. During the resistance war against the American imperialists, the Party Committee, army and people of Binh Son District under the leadership of the Party, the Provincial Party Committee and the armed forces of the province and Zone 5 achieved brilliant feats of arms, such as the battle against the enemy's sweep in Binh Dong; the historic battle of Van Tuong; the fierce battles in Truong Ba Go, Go Soi, Truong Trau, Doc Phu... and the attack to liberate Binh Son District on March 25, 1975, contributing to the liberation of Quang Ngai Province and the liberation of the South, unifying the country on April 30, 1975. With achievements in the war, the Party Committee, army and people of Binh Son District were honored to receive many noble awards.

After the liberation day, the army and people of Binh Son district joined hands to overcome the consequences of war. After nearly 40 years of implementing the Party's renovation policy, the district has achieved many positive results. The infrastructure system has been invested synchronously. The economy and society have developed remarkably. Up to now, 21/21 communes of the district have met the new rural standards, of which 3 communes have met the advanced new rural standards. The average income per capita has reached 60 million VND/person/year. The material and spiritual life of the people has been constantly improved.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hoang Giang emphasized that Binh Son district is a land with a long history and revolutionary tradition. The army and people of Binh Son district courageously fought against foreign invaders to gain independence and freedom. After 50 years of liberation, the Party Committee, government, army and people of Binh Son district have focused on overcoming the consequences of war and building their homeland to develop day by day.

For Binh Son to develop further, comrade Nguyen Hoang Giang suggested that the Party Committee, government, army and people in the district successfully implement the goals and targets set by the Resolution of the 20th Provincial Party Congress and the District Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term. In particular, focusing on improving the leadership capacity and fighting strength of the Party Committee. Promoting economic restructuring towards increasing the proportion of industry and services, reducing the proportion of agriculture.

Support businesses to remove difficulties and obstacles to promote production and business. Preserve, conserve and promote the traditional cultural identity of ethnic groups in the area. Focus on improving the quality of education. Effectively exploit the potential and advantages of the locality to develop tourism and services. Continue to arrange and streamline the apparatus in the spirit of "putting the interests of the nation and people first". Pay attention to building and improving the quality of human resources in the district's political system.
