In the early match, taking place at 2:30 p.m. (Vietnam time), U.22 Vietnam had a 1-1 draw with U.22 Korea. Although rated lower, U.22 Vietnam was the team that had many dangerous opportunities. In the 53rd minute, Thanh Nhan entered the U.22 Korea penalty area, kicked the ball past goalkeeper Lim Jun-sub, opening the score of the match.

After the goal, U.22 Vietnam defended strongly against the stormy attack of U.22 Korea. It seemed that 3 points were in the hands of coach Dinh Hong Vinh and his team, but in the 90+1 minute, Jeong Jae-sang took advantage of a moment of lack of concentration in the U.22 Vietnam defense, scoring past Cao Van Binh, sealing a 1-1 draw for U.22 Korea.

Drawing 1-1 in the opening match, U.22 Korea and U.22 Vietnam both got 1 point, sharing the top 2 positions in the group. In the second match, U.22 Vietnam will face U.22 Uzbekistan while U.22 Korea will meet the host team U.22 China.

Meanwhile, at 6:35 p.m., the home team U.22 China will take the field against U.22 Uzbekistan. Chinese media rated this as an exciting match as both teams brought very strong squads to the tournament.

However, contrary to expectations, the match between U.22 China and U.22 Uzbekistan was dull, ending in a 0-0 draw. Despite being rated higher, Uzbekistan started the game slowly, with only 1 shot on target in 90 minutes. On the opposite side, U.22 China also had difficulty in developing the ball. The home team could not approach the U.22 Uzbekistan penalty area and only had 6 shots (2 on target).

With a dull 0-0 draw, U.22 China and U.22 Uzbekistan both have 1 point like U.22 Vietnam and U.22 Korea, but are ranked 3rd and 4th respectively because they have not scored any goals. More notably, this is the second consecutive 0-0 draw between U.22 China and U.22 Uzbekistan. In the CFA Team China 2024 tournament, the match between U.22 China and U.22 Uzbekistan also ended with a similar result.
