YouTube is about to let users choose audio quality
This information was revealed after Android Authority analyzed the source code of the YouTube beta version. Accordingly, users can choose different levels of audio quality, thereby improving the experience of listening to music and watching videos. These options include:
- Auto: Adjusts audio quality based on viewer's internet speed.
- Normal: Uses YouTube's standard audio quality (which is probably the current 128 kbps Opus format).
- High: Audio quality with higher bitrate, potentially improving clarity.
Currently, audio quality on YouTube depends on the uploader and does not change with the video resolution. This is frustrating for many users who encounter videos with sharp images but poor audio quality. This new feature will help solve that problem.
There are a few things to note, however, as the code strings found suggest that the feature may be exclusive to paid users. Additionally, the feature may only be available for certain content.
YouTube has not yet made an official announcement about when this feature will be released. However, if implemented, this will be a big step forward, bringing a better audio-visual experience to YouTube users.
