More than 2 months after Decree 168/2024 of the Government on administrative sanctions for violations in the field of road traffic; deduction of points, restoration of driving license points came into effect, the period of time is not too long but has created a new look for the capital's traffic with changes in the awareness of the majority of people. Crossroads and traffic junctions have become neat and tidy, people obeying the law of not running red lights, not crossing the line has become common.

However, in addition to the achievements in reducing traffic congestion and accidents, the traffic culture in the capital still has some negative points due to the uncivilized behavior of a small number of traffic participants. The situation of riding motorbikes on the sidewalk, driving in the wrong direction, stopping and parking cars in violation of regulations still occurs... posing potential risks to traffic safety.
This is not a small challenge, but the Hanoi Traffic Police force with the highest determination "Only work, no retreat" is still making efforts every day to ensure traffic safety on the streets.

According to the CAND Newspaper reporter's records on March 19, in the area of Nguyen Xien Street (Thanh Xuan District, Hanoi), the working group of Traffic Police Team No. 7 (Traffic Police Department, Hanoi City Police) organized forces to handle cases of motorbikes riding on the sidewalk, driving in the wrong direction... In just a few minutes, there were 10 cases of motorbikes riding on the sidewalk that were asked to stop and be handled by the Traffic Police Team.

Working with the traffic police, Mr. Nguyen HH (born in 2000; residing in Nam Dinh) said that Nguyen Xien Street towards Thanh Xuan District often has traffic jams in the morning, so this driver chose to ride his motorbike on the sidewalk to be able to get to work on time and avoid being late. However, this is a violation, so Mr. H. also asked to learn from his experience and from now on not repeat the offense.

Sharing the same reason of being afraid of being late for work to justify her violation is a female driver named Th.
When the police informed the female driver of the fine, she was surprised to be fined so heavily, up to 5 million VND, the same as running a red light.

According to Captain Trinh Quoc Tuan, an officer of Traffic Police Team No. 7, violators of the law will be fined 5 million VND and have 2 points deducted from their driver's license for riding a motorbike on the sidewalk.
"Many people have the habit of walking on the sidewalk to speed up but do not realize that this is a dangerous behavior for pedestrians and causes traffic chaos. In Decree 168, the fine for this behavior is increased to deter violators, forcing them to comply for greater safety, contributing to reducing traffic accidents," Captain Trinh Quoc Tuan affirmed.
At the same time, in the Ton That Tung street area, in front of the gate of Hanoi Medical University Hospital (Dong Da district, Hanoi), the working group of Traffic Police Team No. 3 coordinated with Kim Lien Ward Police to patrol and handle cars and taxis that stopped and parked illegally, causing traffic obstruction.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Dang Hong Giang, Captain of Traffic Police Team No. 3, Ton That Tung Street has a relatively high traffic density, and in this area there is Hanoi Medical University Hospital with a large number of people coming for medical examination and treatment every day, so there is a situation where many vehicles stop and park in front of the hospital gate, causing traffic congestion and the risk of traffic accidents. Traffic Police Team No. 3 has developed a specific plan, closely following the traffic situation and closely coordinating with the ward police force to continuously patrol and handle violations.
